Former Indian batter Sanjay Manjrekar, in a recent tweet, shared a piece of advice for the young Indian fast bowler Umran Malik. Manjrekar advised him to improve his accuracy and other skills but should not compromise his speed. Manjrekar’s advice came after India beat Ireland in a nail-biting last-over 2nd T20 match.

Umran Malik made his highly anticipated debut on the international platform in the recently concluded two-match T20 series against Ireland. The debut match didn’t go well due to rain, and he was only given a single over to bowl, in which he conceded a lot of runs.

Manjrekar took to Twitter and said that Umran Malik is a rare bowling talent, and all he needs is to continue to practice a million balls targeted at one stump. He further said that accuracy and other needful expertise will follow with time, however, it shouldn’t come at the cost of pace.

Though Malik was also put to test in the second match, he managed to bag his first international wicket when he dismissed wicket-keeper batter, Lorcan Tucker. He completed his entire spell at the economy of 10.50, which was much better than the previous match.

In the death overs,

Hardik Pandya betted on him and gave him the last over to defend 17 runs, out of which, he conceded only 12 runs. Though the outcome was not up to the mark as he yielded a few boundaries, India managed to beat Ireland in the two-match series.
