Australia on Tuesday announced that six World Cup-winning members would remain unavailable for the remainder of the ongoing T20I series against India. According to cricket.com.au, Steve Smith and Adam Zampa have already returned home, whereas Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis, Josh Inglis and Sean Abbott will fly back on Wednesday. This would mean Travis Head as the only World Cup-winning member to remain in India. Head had scored a title-winning century in the World Cup final in Ahmedabad against India on 19 November.

Wicketkeeper-batter Josh Philippe and Ben McDermott will join the squad in Guwahati ahead of Tuesday’s third T20I, whereas Ben Dwarshius and Chris Green will team up with the squad in Raipur ahead of the fourth T20I slated for Friday.
