After a resounding victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad in their opening game of the season, Kolkata Knight Riders have travelled to Bengaluru to play arguably against their biggest rival in the tournament. Royal Challengers Bengaluru meanwhile have lost their opening game of the season against Chennai Super Kings but bounced back against Punjab Kings in their first home game of the season. Ahead of taking on KKR, the Faf du Plessis-led side will be fairly confident of their chances but it wouldn’t be an easy task.
KKR all-rounder Andre Russell is in remarkable form at the moment as he smashed 64* runs off 25 deliveries in the last match. England international Phil Salt too played well in the last match, and so did Ramandeep Singh, who made 35 runs off 17 deliveries. With the ball, Sunil Narine was very impressive along with Harshit Rana, but the others including IPL’s most expensive player, Mitchell Starc will have to pull up their socks.

When it comes to RCB, Virat Kohli is on song. The 35-year-old hit 77 runs off 49 deliveries but the middle order is yet to come to party. However, Anuj Rawat and Dinesh Karthik have been exceptional in the tournament so far, which is a good sign for RCB as finishing has always been a concern for the franchise in their history. When it comes to bowling, Glenn Maxwell and Mohammed Siraj have done well but there’s room for improvement.
