Match 9 of the Indian Premier League 2024 saw Rajasthan Royals play hosts to Delhi Capitals at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Thursday. DC won the toss and opted to bowl first. RR did not anticipate an early setback as Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jos Buttler were back in the hut scoring 5 and 11 respectively. Sanju Samson and Riyan Parag started accumulating runs as the former was dismissed for 15. Ravi Ashwin played a short cameo of 19 runs but it was Parag, who scored an unbeaten 84 off 45 to take RR to 185 runs.
DC were off to a brisk start with David Warner and Mitchell Marsh batting brilliantly. After Marsh scored 23 runs he gave way to Ricky Bhui who went packing for a duck. Rishabh Pant played a slow inning of 28 runs in 26 balls and Warner too departed in a hurry scoring 49 off 34. Tristan Stubbs was looking to pull off a showman spectacle with his unbeaten 44 off 23 but he and Axar Patel could not fetch 17 runs off the final over bowled by Avesh Khan. RR emerged victorious by 12 runs.

With the 12-run victory RR have solidified their second position below Chennai Super Kings. But their Net Run Rate has declined despite a victory against the DC. On the other hand, DC see themselves in the eighth position with two losses in two games and they are just above Mumbai Indians who are at the ninth spot.

Most Runs in IPL 2024:
Riyan Parag has overtaken Virat Kohli to claim the second spot with 127 runs. His 84 runs off 45 balls against DC on Thursday has made him the player to watch out for this IPL 2024. Kohli has slipped to third and Heinrich Klaasen has maintained the top spot with 143 runs in two games.
Most Wickets in IPL 2024:
The top-5 list remains unchanged even after the RR vs DC game where most of the bowlers were among wickets. Particularly Yuzendra Chahal picked two wickets in the game. CSK's Mustafzur Rahman still tops the chart with six wickets in two games and he is followed by Punjab Kings Harpreet Brar with three wickets in two games.
