IPL 2024: Sunrisers Hyderabad' 1st Innings Highlights against DC in Match 35

In the 35th match of the Indian Premier League, high-flying Sunrisers Hyderabad travelled to Delhi to face the Delhi Capitals. The hosts won the toss and opted to field first, hoping to use the dew factor in the second half. Skipper Rishabh Pant informed that the side have made three changes, with the biggest one being the comeback of overseas batter David Warner along with Anrich Nortje and Lalit Yadav.

Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma started off the innings in the same aggressive approach that they have been adopting in the previous encounters as well. They broke the record of the highest runs scored during a power play in the history of the tournament. The openers were able to take the team to 125 for no loss inside the first six overs.

Travis Head: Fifty off 16 balls

Travis Head completed his fifty inside 16 balls and was leaving no stone unturned in taking his side to yet another big total. Kuldeep Yadav brought some smiles for his franchise as he took two wickets in the seventh over to dismiss Abhishek Sharma and Aiden Markram. The spinners were able to turn the tide of the match as Kuldeep grabbed the wicket of Travis Head and Axar Patel sent back the dangerous Heinrich Klaasen.

Kuldeep Yadav brought some smiles for his franchise as he took two wickets in the seventh over to dismiss Abhishek Sharma and Aiden Markram. The spinners were able to turn the tide of the match as Kuldeep grabbed the wicket of Travis Head and Axar Patel sent back the dangerous Heinrich Klaasen.

Second Strategic Timeout SRH - 184/4 (13.0)

Sunrisers Hyderabad looked in a spot of bother as Shahbaz Ahmed and Nitish Kumar Reddy found themselves at the crease inside 9 overs. The duo were able to stabilize the innings and kept the scoreboard ticking and the boundaries flowing regularly. They had a great partnership of 67 runs before Kuldeep Yadav finished his spell with yet another wicket. Nitish Kumar wanted to up the ante once again but ended up giving away his wicket.

End of innings: SRH - 266/7 (20.0)

Abdul Samad came out to bat in the final three overs and was brimming with confidence after his explosive innings in the last match. He was able to play his shots once again and scored a valuable 13 runs from 8 balls. Shahbaz Ahmed continued and reached his fifty in the final over and helped his side reach a massive total of 266/8 in their 20 overs.
