The 38th game of the Indian Premier League 2024 season is set to witness Rajasthan Royals host Mumbai Indians. It is a key game for both teams with various outcomes and implications for their future in the league this season. 

Both sides are coming into the game on the back of a win in their respective previous game. Jos Buttler’s century helped the Royals post a close win against Kolkata Knight Riders. This helped the inaugural IPL winners seal the first spot in the IPL points table. 

Mumbai Indians, on the other hand, had to sweat it out against Punjab Kings to win their third game of the season. Hardik Pandya will hope that his team can find their peak in the all-important second half of the season.

30-year-old Shreyas Gopal has been playing IPL for quite a few years now. The leg-spinner began his career with Mumbai Indians before moving to Rajasthan Royals. This was followed by a stint with Sunrisers Hyderabad as Gopal finally made his way back to Mumbai Indians for this campaign. 

Gopal has picked 52 IPL wickets out of which 41 have come with Rajasthan Royals and 10 with the Mumbai Indians. The best moment for Shreyas Gopal in the RR shirt came during IPL 2019 when he picked a hat-trick. The leg-spinner got the wickets of Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers and Australian Marcus Stoinis in a dream over.
