With the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 getting intense with each passing day, the ten teams are also stretching in the last leg to qualify for the playoffs, which will be played from May 26 with the final scheduled for May 31. Amidst this is Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), who are having a season to forget in IPL 2026. The Rishabh Pant & men, who walked into the tournament boasting of some class players in their ranks, have failed to come out as a unit.

As a result, the side is reeling at the bottom-most spot with only 3 wins in 10 games and are fighting to finish in the top four. With only four league stage fixtures left for them, their chances of making it into the playoffs remain bleak, but they will look to push in all their games. While they will take on Chennai Super Kings on May 10 in Chennai, they will then host them in a reverse fixture, followed by a game against Rajasthan Royals in Jaipur before they return home for their final league fixture against Punjab Kings on May 23.

LSG’s IPL 2026 playoffs qualification scenario explained

The Rishabh Pant & Co, who are currently reeling at the 10th spot in the IPL 2026 points table, still have four games to go. With 6 points already under their belt with 3 wins, the maximum they can reach is 14 points. But if we speak mathematically, even a perfect record in the final four games could just prove insufficient for the Lucknow-based franchise.

Addressing LSG’s season in IPL 2026, they haven’t had a good season at home, as they have lost 4 of the five games so far, whereas their only win at home came against defending champions, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), on May 7. However, when we talk of their away matches, they have won two and lost 3 games.

Considering the 21 matches LSG have so far played at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in IPL history, they have won 9 and lost 11, whereas one game ended in a no result. Recently, Rishabh Pant & Co. finally ended their streak of 8 consecutive defeats at home when they beat RCB.
