Having not featured for the West Indies in an international game since August 2019, Sunil Narine finally decided to call it a day as far as his representing West Indies was concerned, making an official statement in November last year.

Talking about this year's IPL, the West Indian all-rounder's been in fine nick for the Kolkata Knight Riders, accumulating 286 runs in 7 innings at a blistering strike rate of 176.54, having notched up a half-century and a century apiece. His performances with the ball haven't been bad either, with him taking nine wickets in seven innings at a miserly economy rate of 7.10.

Following his promising start to the campaign, West Indian skipper, Rovmann Powell, featuring for the Rajasthan Royals, tried coercing him into reversing his retirement and representing the nation for the imminent T20 World Cup to be co-hosted by the West Indies and the USA in June later this year.
