Royal Challengers Bengaluru took on Gujarat Titans in Match 52 of the Indian Premier League 2024 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on May 4. RCB won the toss and opted to field first on a hard deck. Home skipper Faf du Plessis announced that they will field the same team for this game. However, Gujarat Titans made a couple of changes to their playing XI for the crucial encounter.
Manav Suthar made his debut for GT. For the uninitiated ones, he has represented India at the under-19 and has been part of the India A team. The bowling all-rounder represents his home state Rajasthan in the domestic circuit. The other change came in the form of the left-arm pacer from Ireland, Joshua Little. The two players have replaced Azmatullah Omarzai and R Sai Kishore. The move came as GT aimed for a batting depth in Suthar and solidifying pace arsenal in the form of Little.
“We are going to chase. The conversations (among the players) have been good. To make that shift from the beginning, that's pleasing. From a batting perspective, we have found our mojo. The guys can come in and bat freely. Same team,” said the RCB skipper at the toss.
“The talk is to win four in four. It's important to turn up and deliver our best. I feel our fielding has let us down. We have had a chat about it. We need to be a better team as a fielding unit. IPL is such a long tournament. It's important to turn up on the day. We have two changes, Manav Suthar makes his debut and Josh Little comes in,” said Gill at the toss.
