Will Sikandar Raza be available for Punjab Kings entirely for IPL 2024?

Punjab Kings face a big crisis midway in IPL 2024. Sikandar Raza’s availability in the Indian Premier League remains uncertain. This is primarily because Zimbabwe are slated to play 5 T20I games against Bangladesh. And most importantly, Sikandar Raza is the captain of the Zimbabwe team.

So far Sikandar Raza has played just 2 matches for Punjab Kings in IPL 2024. In those 2 games he has managed to score 43 runs with a highest score of 28. While he is not a regular in the PBKS Playing XI, this availability is of paramount importance to the team.

Why Sikandar Raza can be unavailable?

Sikandar Raza can leave Punjab Kings midway to join National Team duties. The Bangladesh National Team will take on Zimbabwe for a 5-match T20I series in their bid to prepare for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup. The first game starts on 3rd May and will continue till 12th May.

There is no clarity on Sikandar Raza’s condition. However, before the IPL 2024 Auction, BCCI had already informed the IPL teams that the player would be available in entirety of the tournament.

Punjab Kings are now currently placed 9th in the points table, i.e the penultimate spot. PBKS will not be eager to let go an important player from the team midway into the tournament.
