With the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 nearing the end of the league stage, the last week saw close matches, edge-of-your-seat thrillers, and even a few low-scoring games. Above all was the team’s fight for a place in the top four, which also saw two teams, the Mumbai Indians (MI) and the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), become the first two teams to get eliminated. Although the action will just get even more intense from here on with 8 teams fighting for a spot in the final four, the last week brought a few players’ performances also under the radar.
While some starred with their spell, a few others played match-winning knocks, but a few struggled to find the rhythm. Although a few players out of them have already guided their respective teams in some games, their performances last week were just out of order, resulting in them finding a place in the list of flop players for week 6 of IPL 2026. Be it Suryakumar Yadav struggling to get runs, Kuldeep Yadav bowling expensive spells, or Virat Kohli getting out on a duck, let’s look at the five players who haven’t had a good last week.
5 Players who have flopped in Week 6 of IPL 2026
Virat Kohli
Star batter and veteran cricketer Virat Kohli must have had some memorable and match-winning knocks so far in IPL 2026, but in the past week, he was just out of touch. Despite guiding the team to victory in a few games with knocks of 69* off 38 deliveries, 50 off 38 vs MI, and 81 off 44 vs GT, in the two RCB games, which saw them win one and lose the other, Kohli got out on the scores of 0 off 1 and 0 off 2.
Although the 37-year-old batter will look to get his mojo back with RCB closing in on sealing a playoffs berth, his form will be crucial in the team’s title defence from hereon, with only a couple of games remaining.

Team India skipper and a middle-order batter for Mumbai Indians (MI), Suryakumar Yadav, has had a rather challenging season in IPL 2026. Although he is known for his 360-degree stroke play, Suryakumar Yadav’s form was crucial when it mattered the most for the franchise, but it just wasn’t delivered. Especially in the last two games Mumbai played in IPL 2026, which saw them win against LSG by 6 wickets and go down by 2 wickets against RCB, Suryakumar registered scores of 12 off 7 and 0 off 1, respectively.
Priyansh Arya
Punjab Kings opener Priyansh Arya, who had earlier produced two explosive knocks against Gujarat Titans (GT) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in IPL 2026, underlining himself as one of the most fearless batters, succumbed to their attack this time in the reverse fixtures. With PBKS playing both these teams in the last week and registering back-to-back losses in the tournament, Arya could not emulate his previous performance.
While his innings was cut short early by Mohammed Siraj in the game against GT on May 3, he could not carry his aggressive approach in PBKS’ 33-run defeat against SRH on May 6. Having retained his place at the top of the order for Punjab, Priyansh Arya would look to get back his form right in time, with PBKS eyeing their maiden title.
Kuldeep Yadav
Known to be a match-winner, Delhi Capitals’ (DC) spinner Kuldeep Yadav is yet to spell his magic with the ball. Kuldeep, who conceded 34 runs in his 3 overs with an economy of 11.30 in DC’s game against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and followed with the figures of 0/41 in the 3 overs against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), has been struggling with consistency and control. Although he has been backed by the team management, he has to regain his form before it gets too late, as DC fights for a spot in the playoffs.
Marco Jansen
The tall left-arm seamer has been key in PBKS’ bowling lineup, providing bounce and movement with the new ball; his performance last week just wasn’t enough to explain the power that he holds. While Jansen remains an important figure in Punjab’s IPL 2026 campaign, given his versatility and ability to bowl in difficult phases of the game, he was inconsistent in their last few matches.
In PBKS’s 4-wicket defeat against Gujarat Titans (GT), Jansen scored 20 off 11 deliveries and finished with figures of 1/33 in his spell of 4 overs. In PBKS’ third consecutive defeat in IPL 2026, which came against SRH, the Protean international could only add 19 runs and returned expensive with the ball, registering figures of 0/61 in his 4 overs.
