One of the most successful T20 coaches, Andy Flower, will team up with Mo Bobat again in The Hundred. Mo Bobat and Andy Flower paired up in the Indian Premier League and ended the Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s trophy jinx in IPL 2025. Now, they will be at the helm of restructuring London Spirit in The Hundred. Bobat is the Director of Cricket at London Spirit, a role similar to his position with RCB. The former Zimbabwe batter, Flower, will replace Justin Langer as the head coach.
“I’m delighted that we’ve been able to secure Andy’s services as our men’s head coach. His track record across international and franchise cricket, over an extended period of time, speaks for itself. Andy and I have enjoyed a strong working relationship in the past, and I’m looking forward to building something special with him at London Spirit as we enter this new and exciting phase for the franchise,” Mo Bobat said in a statement.
Andy Flower: The Super Coach
Unlike football, cricket does not have the concept of a super coach. But if Pep Guardiola or Carlo Ancelotti are super coaches of football, Andy Flower could get the same distinction in cricket. Flower, who scored over 11000 international runs, began his coaching in 2007 as the assistant coach of the England Men’s Team. Since then, he has only grown into the role.
His first title as the coach came in 2010 with England when he was the team director. England won the T20 World Cup in 2010. Flower also won the Ashes with England. But as T20 leagues started blooming, he ventured into the new world. And he found success there as well. He won the Pakistan Super League with Multan Sultans, The Hundred with Trent Rockets, the ILT20 League with Gulf Giants and who can forget RCB’s IPL title.
With Andy Flower taking charge of Royal Challengers Bengaluru, the team finally won their maiden IPL title after an 18-year wait in 2025. Now, he will aim to guide London Spirit to their maiden Hundred title.
“I’m hugely excited to be joining London Spirit and to be working at the Home of Cricket. I’m also thrilled to be working once again with Mo, and for the first time with both MCC and the Tech Titans. I am really looking forward to beginning this new chapter with London Spirit,” Andy Flower said in a statement.
