After LSG trade, Rishabh Pant released by Delhi franchise; Mayank Yadav enters DPL 2026 auction

Rishabh Pant, Mayank Yadav, Digvesh Rathi, Himmat Singh, Sarthak Ranjan, and Suyash Sharma will enter the Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2026 auction on July 1. The Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) has announced the retentions, player categories, streaming details, and everything relevant to the auction.

Player categories

65 players have been retained, and more than 400 players will enter the men’s auction. The players will be divided into four categories at the auction. 8 players can be retained from the Marquee category, 16 from Category A, 22 from Category B and 19 from Category C.

• Marquee: India internationals, India A players and players who’ve been part of IPL squad in any of the last 3 seasons
• Category A: Delhi’s senior men’s players who’ve played in any of the previous 3 domestic seasons
• Category B: Delhi Under-23, Under-19 and Under-16 players
• Category C: DDCA-registered players from Delhi’s league cricket circuit

Other than those mentioned above, star players like Ishant Sharma, Navdeep Saini, Simarjeet Singh, Anuj Rawat, Kuldeep Yadav, Vansh Bedi and Tejasvi will also enter the auction.

Purse & category prices

The eight franchises have been allotted a purse of INR 1.5 crore. The base price for Marquee players is Rs 10 lakhs, Category A is Rs 5 lakhs, Category B is Rs 3 lakhs and Category C is Rs 1 lakh.

RTM card

Similar to the Indian Premier League (IPL), each franchise will be granted a Right to Match (RTM) card at the DPL 2026 auction. Unlike the IPL, the original bidder can’t raise the price, and the franchise to which the player belongs can reclaim them at the final price.

Squad Strength

The franchises need a minimum of 20 and a maximum of 25 players in the squad. The breakdown will be 2 marquee players, exactly 4 Category A players, between 6 and 10 Category B players, and between 8 and 9 Category C players.

Live streaming & broadcast details

The DPL 2026 auction will be streamed live on the league’s YouTube channel and broadcast live on JioHotstar.
