Just a few days ago, IPL retention lists confirmed that Dhoni will continue with CSK for the 2026 season. The legendary wicketkeeper-batter is expected to play alongside rising stars such as Ayush Mhatre, Dewald Brevis, Urvil Patel, and Noor Ahmad, further strengthening CSK’s youth-driven unit.
With the IPL 2026 auction scheduled for December 16, CSK are anticipated to add a few more promising youngsters to their ranks. Under Dhoni’s guidance, these players will not only aim to perform but also uphold the rich legacy of the franchise. As the team gradually transitions toward a new era, Dhoni’s mentorship is expected to play a crucial role in shaping the next generation of CSK leaders.

As a keeper, you got multiple chances to meet MS Dhoni. What is the one golden advice you have received from him?
The last game I played against Chennai, I think it was our first match of 2024, I scored around 48 runs. I met him after that. I have spoken to him a couple of times, and he always tells me the same thing: be honest with yourself. If you focus on your process and put in honest practice and hard work, everything else will follow. That’s something he always emphasises.
