What a talent! Vaibhav Suryavanshi is generational. Day after day, the 14-year-old continues to prove it again. Making his India A debut in the 2025 Asia Cup Rising Star, Vaibhav scored a 32-ball hundred against a full-strength United Arab Emirates (UAE) team.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi stuns with a 32-ball hundred
Dropped on the first ball of the match, Suryavanshi made UAE pay big time. After hitting 10 boundaries (4 sixes and 6 fours), the 14-year-old brought up his half-century in just 17 balls. Considering the fact that the UAE were playing the Asia Cup a few days ago and gave a tough time to Pakistan, who would have thought that Suryavanshi would demolish their bowlers?
But that’s exactly what happened. His onslaught may have been ended on the last ball of the powerplay when he was batting on 56 off 19, but Suryavanshi was dropped once again. That proved to be way to fatal for UAE. In his next 15 balls, the teenager scored 50 runs including 4 fours and 5 sixes to bring up his hundred in just 32 balls.
Coming in from a quickfire 93 against Meghalaya in the Ranji Trophy, the 14-year-old was in form. Such was his performance for India Under-19 and in domestic cricket that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) thought it was time to promote Suryavanshi to the ‘A’ team. And he’s proven the selectors right already.
This fifty should be enough to show the world that the 14-year-old belongs at this level. He’ll face Pakistan A next, which should test him more. But he’s already shown that if he was unnerved in the Indian Premier League (IPL), India A isn’t a tough gravy for him.
