1 hour ago 9

Babar Azam has joined the elitist of elite lists in T20 cricket. The quality Pakistani batter just scored his 100th fifty. Babar reached the milestone in the 23rd match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2026, between the Peshawar Zalmi and the Quetta Gladiators, in Karachi.

Babar took just 341 innings for his century of fifties in the shortest format. India’s Virat Kohli is the next best, and he needed 60 more innings to get there. If one talks about just Pakistanis, Shoaib Malik is the next best with 83 fifties in T20 cricket. And he has retired with 515 innings.

Fastest to 100 fifties in T20 cricket

  • Babar Azam – 341 innings
  • Virat Kohli – 401 innings
  • David Warner – 435 innings
  • Jos Buttler – 468 innings

Excluding Babar and Kohli, only two other cricketers have managed to score 100 half-centuries in the shortest format. David Warner was the first man to get there, while Jos Buttler reached there just 3 days ago, on April 12, during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 match between the Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants.
