This follows a controversy that was sparked by a viral video of the game, in which players from the five-time champions’ squad and support staff were seen allegedly giving batter Suryakumar Yadav illegal assistance when he asked for a review.

Arshdeep Singh’s delivery in the game’s fifteenth over of the Mumbai Indians innings was full and far outside off-stump, nearly touching the tramline. Playing at 67 in 47 deliveries at the time, Suryakumar attempted to chase it. It was judged a lawful delivery by the umpire. But then the camera cut to the MI dugout, where Tim David and batting coach Kieron Pollard could be seen urging the batter to take a review by making the ‘T’ sign with their hands, and head coach Mark Boucher was seen signaling to Suryakumar that it was a wide.
