The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will find a new title sponsor for the India men’s and women’s cricket teams soon. Last month, the ‘Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Bill 2025’ was introduced in the Lok Sabha. The 3-year worth of INR 358 crore was supposed to last until March 2026, but due to unforeseen circumstances, it had to end prematurely.
Team India to get a new sponsor soon
This means that BCCI had to scramble for a new lead sponsor for Team India. They announced a fresh tender, but the Men in Blue had to go into the Men’s T20 Asia Cup 2025 without a sponsor. The last day to buy the Invitation of Expression of Interest is today, September 12. And the 16th will be the final day for the submission of the bid documents.
The board’s plan will be to get the new sponsor on board prior to India’s campaign for the Women’s ODI World Cup 2025, which begins on September 30, and the men’s India vs West Indies Test series, which kicks off on October 2. Current Indian Premier League (IPL) Chairman Arun Dhumal has assured that within 15-20 days, Team India will have a new sponsor.
“I think what is done is done (on Dream11’s exit). I would not like to talk about that. But we have started the ball rolling as far as the next sponsor is concerned. I am sure within 2-3 weeks we will get to know that,” Dhumal told reporters on the sidelines of the PlayCom 2025 summit.
