CSK beat RCB to become most-watched, most talked about team in IPL 2026

Chennai Super Kings might have returned to winning ways in the Indian Premier League (IPL 2026) only recently with a three-match winning streak but have not failed to pique the interest of the viewers and fans. Ruturaj Gaikwad and co. have beaten the likes of defending champs Royal Challengers Bengaluru and five-time champions Mumbai Indians to become the most-watched team and the most-talked about side on social media in the ongoing edition of the tournament. Interestingly, RCB – who enjoy an enormous fan following on both social media and ground presence, have failed to make it to the top of both the lists despite their commendable performance so far in IPL 2026.

CSK is most-watched team in IPL 2026

As per the data released by the official broadcaster Star Sports, an average of 308 million viewers have tuned in to watch every CSK match in IPL 2026. RCB sits second on the list, with 303 mllion users per game, while MI, SRH and KKR are the next three teams on the list. CSK have won five out of the ten games that they have played so far in this season, with their single-biggest asset being Sanju Samson. In all the games that he has registered scores of over 30+ runs, CSK have managed to win the game. It is also pertinent to point out that CSK is the most-watched team despite the absence of MS Dhoni who is yet to return to action after sustaining a calf injury before IPL 2026.

At nearly past the halfway stage of the tournament, four out of the five teams on the list of most-watched in this season, are in the race for spots in the IPL 2026 playoffs. CSK are 6th on the IPL 2026 points table, RCB 3rd, MI on 9th, KKR on 7th and SRH at the number 1 position.

CSK also tops the list of the most talked about teams on social media by fans in IPL 2026. Despite RCB boasting of a very strong and significant presence of support on social media, it is CSK who top the list, with 22% of the fans talking about the team online.
