The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) haven’t completed their review of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 season. Although the franchise has decided to part ways with head coach Stephen Fleming after 17 years, no other decisions have been taken.
CSK head coach to have complete authority
There’s been a lot of talk regarding Fleming’s replacement. But CSK hasn’t discussed the matter just yet. However, one thing’s clear: whoever takes over will have full control of the franchise. Kasi Viswanathan, CSK Chief Executive Officer (CEO), has assured that the new head coach will have the authority to choose his own support staff.
At present, Michael Hussey, Eric Simons and Sridharan Sriram hold key positions and have been associated with the 5-time IPL champions for a long period. But CSK are willing to be flexible and will follow the vision of Fleming’s replacement, even if that means parting with the present support staff. However, the core players will stay with the side, and the team will be built around them.
“The only review meeting regarding Chennai Super Kings so far has happened only with Stephen Fleming. The new coach, whoever is appointed, will have the complete freedom to choose his support staff. But the core group of players will remain the same,” Kasi told RevSportz.
