IPL 2026 ticket scam

A ticket scam has surfaced after the Delhi Capitals vs Mumbai Indians IPL 2026 match at Arun Jaitley Stadium. A senior DDCA official claims unauthorised persons used duplicate tickets, denying entry to valid ticket-holders. The official, Anand Verma, lodged a complaint with police, alleging security personnel collusion. However, DDCA secretary Ashok Sharma dismisses it as a “technical issue” with barcode scanning. The scam raises concerns as Delhi hosts five more IPL 2026 matches. Read more here.

Mukul Choudhary saves LSG

KKR’s solid bowling effort was blown away by Mukul Choudhary’s stunning 54-run knock, leading LSG to a thrilling 3-wicket win. Choudhary, bought for ₹2.6 crore, smashed 2 fours and 7 sixes off 27 balls. KKR’s bowlers had LSG reeling at 5 down, but Choudhary’s blitzkrieg turned the game. Gill penalised

Gujarat Titans captain Shubman Gill has been fined ₹12 lakh by the BCCI for a slow over-rate in their win over Delhi Capitals. This is Gill’s first offence, and the penalty is standard for such breaches. The match was intense, with GT winning by one run, thanks to Prasidh Krishna’s last-ball dot. Gill scored 70 and led his team to their first win of IPL 2026. The BCCI is for matches to finish within 3.5 hours. This is the second such fine this season, after Shreyas Iyer was penalised twice. No Rashid Khan vs IND

Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan won’t play the one-off Test against India in June 2026 on doctor’s advice. The spinner’s priority is to prolong his career and he’s been advised to avoid red-ball cricket after his back surgery. Rashid’s focused on white-ball formats, especially the 2027 World Cup. He’s enjoyed success in ODIs and T20Is, picking 210 and 193 wickets respectively. The Afghanistan star wants to manage his workload and avoid rushing back to Tests, having previously played a Test against Zimbabwe in 2025 despite doctor’s orders. Read more here.

Umpiring error in IPL?

A disputed catch in the KKR vs LSG match has raised questions about umpiring in IPL 2026. Digvesh Rathi caught Finn Allen, but replays suggest he might’ve touched the boundary with his boot. The decision wasn’t reviewed, and Allen was out for 9. This isn’t the only incident – a similar controversy occurred in SRH vs RCB with Heinrich Klaasen’s catch. Technology wasn’t used to clarify, leaving fans wondering if the right call was made. Allen’s dismissal would’ve impacted KKR’s innings, given his blazing strike rate of 205 this IPL. Blow for RCB

Nuwan Thushara, retained by RCB for ₹1.6 crore, is still awaiting Sri Lanka Cricket’s (SLC) NOC to play in IPL 2026. Thushara failed SLC’s fitness test and approached Colombo District Court, naming SLC officials as defendants. SLC will file objections on April 23. Thushara claims his fitness is fine and SLC’s decision is unfair, citing past NOCs. RCB needs Thushara, especially with Josh Hazlewood injured. The court decision will impact RCB’s IPL 2026 campaign, with their next match against Rajasthan Royals on April 11. Read more here.
