The Indian Premier League (IPL) is less than five days away and the news regarding the tournament isn’t stopping anytime soon. The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) hosted a fan event, Roar26, where former legends were awarded and were seen playing to delight the CSK crowd at Chepauk. Meanwhile, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) revealed their IPL 2026 price tickets. Pakistan Super League (PSL) has some bad news for fans too.

Full IPL schedule details
The IPL 2026 tournament will have 74 matches, not 84, with 10 teams divided into two groups of five. Teams will play home and away against their group teams and face other group teams once. The BCCI will announce the full schedule this week after state election dates were released. Plans for an 84-match IPL in 2026-27 and 94 matches from 2028 were discussed but didn’t materialise due to the ICC Future Tours Program and scheduling constraints. The tournament will stick to its 65-day window for now, but the BCCI may push for a longer window in the next cycle. Read more here.

RCB ticket prices
RCB has announced ticket prices for their IPL 2026 home games at Chinnaswamy Stadium, with prices ranging from ₹3,750 to ₹65,800. The cheapest tickets are ₹3,750 (initial) to ₹4,875 (dynamic rate), while the costliest ticket goes up to ₹47,000 (initial) to ₹65,800 (dynamic price). Tickets will be available on the official RCB website, but the sale date hasn’t been confirmed yet. Sad news for Pakistan
The Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2026 is going ahead, but with a twist. Due to a severe fuel crisis in Pakistan, the tournament is being confined to just two venues: Lahore and Karachi. Matches will be played behind closed doors, with fans asked to watch from home. Lahore will host 22 games, including the opener, playoffs, and final, while Karachi will host 21 league games and a qualifier. The PCB had to scrap plans to host matches in four other cities due to the fuel shortage, caused by the West Asia war and disrupted oil supplies. Read more here.

KKR sign Akash Deep replacement
KKR has replaced Akash Deep, who was ruled out of IPL 2026, with Saurabh Dubey, a 28-year-old left-arm pacer from Vidarbha. Dubey, who was with SRH earlier, is a talented bowler who can swing and bounce the ball. This comes after Harshit Rana’s knee surgery ruled him out, and Blessing Muzarabani was brought in. KKR’s bowling remains fragile, with doubts over Matheesha Pathirana and Cameron Green’s availability, and concerns about Umran Malik’s injury-prone nature. The team needs more pace-bowling resources. India vs Bangladesh series on?
Bangladesh has cleared the way for a white-ball series against India in September 2026, postponing their Ireland tour. The series will feature three ODIs (Sept 1, 3, 6) and three T20Is (Sept 9, 12, 13). This is a big deal for Bangladesh, boosting their revenue and prep for the 2027 World Cup. They’re currently 9th in ODI rankings and need to finish top 8 by March 2027 to qualify directly. The tour still needs Govt of India clearance, given past tensions. If approved, it’ll be a thrilling series, with Virat and Rohit’s last in Bangladesh! Read more here.

CSK Roar 2026
CSK inducted Suresh Raina and Matthew Hayden into their Hall of Fame at a special event, Roar ’26. The event, Roar ’26, was a nostalgic trip with former players like Dwayne Bravo, Muttiah Muralitharan, Mike Hussey, and MS Dhoni in attendance. It was a celebration of CSK’s legacy, with Raina and Hayden being feted for their dedication and achievements. The atmosphere was electric, with fans reliving the glory days. Read more here.
