Fast bowler Kuldeep Sen set to don jersey of Tamil Nadu in upcoming domestic season

Kuldeep Sen, the fast bowler from Madhya Pradesh, is all set to don the jersey of Tamil Nadu in the 2023–2024 domestic season.

According to reports Kuldeep, who made his international debut in December last year, has received permission from the Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA) to represent Tamil Nadu as a guest player.

In addition to 49 strikes in List A and T20 cricket, Kuldeep has so far taken 52 wickets in 17 first-class matches. He is now nursing an injury, and the National Cricket Academy (NCA) is keeping an eye on him.

Kuldeep sen is migrating from MP to play Ranji trophy for TN. Already we have Sandeep Warrier who came from Kerala. I understand the trophy drain in red ball cricket but what a sad story that we aren't able to produce quality Pacers after Balaji, Yomi.

Kuldeep, who plays for Indian Premier League side Rajasthan Royals, only participated in two IPL games earlier this year and has been out of any form of competitive cricket since April, 2023.

The addition of Kuldeep in the Tamil Nadu bowling line-up is almost certain to provide a much-needed boost to the team that has not won the Ranji Trophy since the 1987-1988 season.

However, Kuldeep has not been included in the squad for the Buchi Babu tournament, which has been revived by the state cricket association after six years in a bid to strengthen the preparation for the upcoming domestic season.

Shreyas Gopal (Kerala)
Karun Nair (Vidarbha)
KV Siddharth (Goa)
Rohan Kadam (Goa)
Kuldeep Sen (TN)

Delhi has now lost Nitish Rana and Dhruv Shorey.

Rana was pissed about Dhull being given captaincy. Shorey was deemed as a red ball player and ignored in other formats.

Who will replace Kuldeep?

Delhi left-arm pacer Kulwant Khejroliya is in consideration to replace Kuldeep Sen in the Tamil Nadu lineup next season.

What’s happening elsewhere?

Earlier reports suggesting Hanuma Vihari being poised for a move from Andhra Pradesh to Madhya Pradesh have not materialised, with the all-rounder reportedly having a change of heart.

Gaurav Yadav has also received an NOC for the Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association and will play for Puducherry in the upcoming season.

Tamil Nadu gearing up for Buchi Babu

Vijay Shankar and M Shahrukh Khan are tipped to lead TNCA president’s XI and TNCA XI sides respectively in the four-day Buchi Babu tournament that will run from August 15 to September 11 in the districts.

Ravichandran Ashwin has been rested while Washington Sundar will be on national duty in Dublin.

The Buchi Babu is set to be a grand affair, with teams from Mumbai, Delhi, MP, Bengal, Haryana, Baroda, Kerala and Jammu & Kashmir will also compete in the tournament.
