GT lost the crucial Qualifier 1 match to the strong CSK. Being the table topper, one would have anticipated crushing Super Kings, but it didn’t exactly happen. Titans, who won the toss, decided to field first. By making it difficult for Chennai, Titans limited them to 172, a score that could be easily reached on that on the Chepauk Stadium’s surface.
With the exception of Shubman Gill, no one knew what was going on on that track, and the Titans continued losing wickets one by one and it was their batting that ultimately cost them the game. Rashid Khan made an effort to emulate his performance against Mumbai in the league stages, but it proved to be too much for him to handle and the Titans ultimately fell short by 15 runs.
At the beginning of the season, a lot of people wrote off the Mumbai Indians since they were losing an excessive number of games but made up for it by winning some crucial games later on to catch up. At one point, Mumbai was suffering at the bottom of the standings, but they once again shown why they are one of the best teams in the IPL.
The odds were stacked against them in their clash against the Lucknow Super Giants. Thanks to Cameron Green’s 41 and Suryakumar Yadav’s quick-fire 33 off 20 after deciding to bat first, Mumbai amassed a decent score. The innings’ final touches were made by Nehal Wadhera. In the end, Mumbai’s bowling shook LSG, which was doing rather well at the start of the chase.
