India vs Pakistan LIVE Score and Updates, Asia Cup 2023: The inevitable finally happened in the Super Four match of the 2023 Asia Cup between India and Pakistan in Colombo on Sunday, with the match moving to Monday’s reserve day after rain played spoilsport.

Only 24.1 overs were possible on what started out as a rather sunny Sunday, before the rain Gods arrived in the evening. With the rain intensifying, covers were firmly in place for more than three hours, and despite multiple inspections by the umpires, play was called off for the day with the rain refusing to recede.

India will resume from their overnight score of 147/2 from 24.1 overs, with KL Rahul (17*) and Virat Kohli (8*) unbeaten. Earlier, captain Rohit Sharma (56) and Shubman Gill (58) forged a 121-run partnership for the opening wicket before the duo departed in quick succession. Shadab Khan got the wicket of Rohit while Shaheen Afridi removed Shubman.

The match remains a 50-over affair provided rain stays away but thunderstorms have been predicted for later in the evening in Colombo.

This is the second time India and Pakistan are facing off in the 2023 Asia Cup. The group stage match between the two arch-rivals ended in a washout, after Ishan Kishan and Hardik Pandya had led India to 266 in Pallekele. Pakistan’s chase did not happen due to rain.

Pakistan had earlier beaten Bangladesh in the Super Fours, while this is India’s first match of the Super Four stage.
