All eyes will be on Australian players in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 Auction as there are many famous names who will go under the hammer. However, it is possible that few of them could go back to their homes without clinching any deal. Let us look at five Australian players who might get unsold in IPL 2024 Auction.

Steve Smith

Australia’s star batter Steve Smith has kept his base price at 2 crore. He has not made any impact in the previous seasons of the IPL. Last year, he was not even picked by any team in the IPL auction. The same story can unfold in the IPL 2024 auction too.

Matthew Short 

Playing for Punjab Kings, Matthew Short had a disappointing IPL season. He scored just 117 runs in six matches. It is possible that he might not be picked by any team in the auction.

Jhye Richardson

Jhye Richardson recently suffered an injury, however, he has registered himself for the IPL 2024 auction. Considering his fitness, Richardson might not make it to any team in the IPL.

Meredith also suffered an injury in the Big Bash League. In the previous season of IPL, Meredith had picked only seven wickets in five matches. He has kept his base price 1 crore which hardly any franchises will give him.

Sean Abbott

The Australian bowler Sean Abbott has kept his base price 2 crore. Teams might not be interested in taking him at such a high price and at too in mini-auction.
