IPL 2024 Auction: Mitchell Starc overtakes Cummins to become most expensive player in IPL history

Mitchell Starc become the highest bid player in the Indian Premier League (IPL) history with 24.75 crore, bought by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). He has overtaken another Australian pacer Pat Cummins who was bought by SRH at 20.5 crore.

Two most expensive players in the IPL 2024 auction have been Australians. Both together fetched 45.35 crores.

Starc is no stranger to IPL, having played for Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders previously. The fast bowler has played 27 matches in IPL till now, taking 34 wickets. It is his economy rate of just over seven that attracted interest towards him.

Starc: I got 24.75 cr

Cummins: I got 20.5 cr
