IPL 2024: KKR vs DC Match 47 - Top 3 player battles to watch out for

2 weeks ago 36

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Delhi Capitals (DC) are gearing up for their second clash in the Indian Premier League (IPL 2024). When the two met earlier this month, DC were annihilated by 106 runs in Visakhapatnam as the KKR batters posted a humongous 272 on the board.

However, things won't be easy for KKR this time as Delhi received a booster dose in the explosive Jake Fraser-McGurk. The young Australian young gun has taken almost every bowler he has faced so far this season to the cleaners. While KKR will rely on their pinch-hitter Sunil Narine, DC will counter-attack with Fraser-McGurk, offering an exciting batting feast.

Notably, DC are coming on the back of a 10-run win over Mumbai Indians, while KKR suffered their third loss of the season against Punjab Kings in their last match. Apart from Narine and Fraser-McGurk's ferocious onslaught, some other key battles are also in line at the Eden Gardens on Monday, April 29.

3. Jake Fraser-McGurk versus Sunil Narine

Jake Fraser-McGurk entered the IPL arena with a lot of hype, and the 23-year-old proved that was not enough to describe his talent. The DC opener has amassed 247 runs in just five matches at an average of 49.40 and an incredible strike rate of 237.50. He has made a habit of making bowlers suffer in the powerplay.

KKR will come up with several strategies to stop the youngster from creating damage early on. Notably, Fraser-McGurk has fallen to spin twice across three innings in IPL 2024. This might force Shreyas Iyer to bring in Sunil Narine inside the powerplay. The ace spinner has taken 10 wickets and has conceded runs at just 6.96 economy.
