IPL 2024: Sunrisers Hyderabad 1st innings highlights against RCB in Match 30

2 weeks ago 39

Faf du Plessis and his Royal Challengers Bengaluru side played a vital game against the visiting Sunrisers Hyderabad side. The RCB skipper won the toss and chose to bowl first as Lockie Ferguson made his RCB debut replacing Mohammed Siraj.

Sunrisers Hyderabad who were fourth in the table with 6 points from five games would have moved above Chennai Super Kings. On the other hand, the RCB side haven't had a great season so far as they are struggling at 10th place with just one win so far from 6 games.

Sunrisers Hyderabad: 50 runs in 4.3 overs.

Will Jacks bowled the first over and gave away just seven runs. Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma then hit Reece Topley for 20 runs in his first over. After two economical overs, Travis Head opened his shoulders and brought up the 50 with two sixes off Ferguson.

Half-Century: Travis Head (Off 20 balls)

Australian opener Travis Head made up for his quiet time with the bat in the last few games. The 30-year-old who was once part of the RCB set up decided to punish the bowling and register yet another well-played half-century.

Powerplay: Overs 0.1 to 6 and First Strategic Time-out (Mandatory – 76/0)

Without the experience of Mohammed Siraj, RCB bowlers looked directionless. Travis Head in particular took full toll on some wayward bowling to score runs at will as the boundaries kept flowing.

Sunrisers Hyderabad: 100 runs in 7.1 overs

The visitors continued to pummel the RCB bowlers even after the first time-out. Sixes galore after the break meant that SRH moved to the 100-run mark at the start of the 8th over of the innings.

Sunrisers Hyderabad: 150 runs from 11.2 overs

Despite the fall of Abhishek Sharma, the RCB bowlers didn’t get any respite. Travis Head was joined by Heinrich Klassen but it was the Australian star who was seen in a dominating mood.

Century: Travis Head (off 39 balls)

It was a happy moment for Travis Head as he got to his first-ever IPL ton in 39 balls. This was the fourth fastest century in the history of IPL. The RCB fans meanwhile were shocked at the scenes they were seeing unfold in front of their eyes in a must-win game

Milestone Alert: 500 sixes of IPL 2024 comes up

The 500th six of IPL 2024 was brought up in just the 30th game of the season. The feat was brought up by Heinrich Klassen when he hit Mahipal Lomror for a six in the 14th over.

Sunrisers Hyderabad: 200 runs in 15 overs

The misery continued for the RCB bowlers as Aiden Markram and Heinrich Klaasen continued to torment the home team. With a six against Vyshak, the 200-run mark was achieved in just 15 overs.

Half-Century: Heinrich Klaasen (Off 23 balls)

If the Royal Challengers Bengaluru bowlers thought the fall of Travis Head would bring relief, they were wrong. South African star Heinrich Klaasen continued to show his ruthless side as he scored yet another amazing half-century from just 23 balls.

Sunrisers Hyderabad: Second Strategic time-out (217/2 off 16 overs)

The hush at the Chinnaswamy Stadium told the story as the SRH batters ran away with the game. Faf Du Plessis would have rued the decision to bowl first on such a good wicket for batting where SRH had just annihilated his bowlers.

Sunrisers Hyderabad: 250 runs in 18.3 overs

Nothing stopped the Sunrisers Hyderabad batters as they upped the tempo after the second time-out. Heinrich Klaasen fell for 67 runs off 31 balls but Aiden Markram and Abdul Samad took the total past the 250 mark.

Milestone: Highest Team Total in IPL history

Sunrisers Hyderabad decimated the RCB bowlers to go past the 277/3 that they scored against Mumbai Indians earlier this season. The top three IPL totals have come in this season with SRH taking the top two spots.

End of the Innings: Sunrisers Hyderabad- 287/3 from 20 overs.

Faf Du Plessis wore a resigned look as the Hyderabad batters pulverized the RCB bowlers. IPL saw history being created when a team crossed 280 runs on the board thanks to the late hitting from Aiden Markram and Abdul Samad.
