The India pacer Arshdeep Singh has become a big talking point on social media after reportedly deleting more than 200 posts from his Instagram account following Punjab Kings’s (PBKS) elimination from the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 season.
The left-arm pacer has not given any reason behind the sudden move, leaving fans curious about what may have caused the clean-up. Many users online are wondering if it is a fresh start for Arshdeep, a social media reset, or simply a decision to stay away from attention after a difficult few weeks.
One of the biggest surprises was the removal of his viral reel with Virat Kohli after India’s win in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The video had reportedly crossed 150 million views on Instagram and was one of the most popular posts on his profile.
However, reports claiming that Arshdeep removed all posts related to Punjab Kings are not true. He still has PBKS mentioned in his bio, and some team-related content is still visible on his account. At present, only around 44 posts remain, mostly featuring family moments, cricket memories, and brand promotions.
Arshdeep has been involved in several social media controversies in recent weeks. Earlier this month, he faced backlash after an alleged racial remark aimed at Tilak Varma before Punjab’s game against Mumbai Indians went viral online.
The pacer also grabbed attention after replying strongly to a fan on Snapchat following PBKS’ loss to Mumbai Indians. Soon after, another Snapchat story involving teammate Priyansh Arya also went viral and created fresh discussion on social media.
After a stunning start to the season, winning the first six matches on the trot, Punjab Kings’ campaign ended on a disappointing note. The Sheyas Iyer-led side lost the plot in the second half of the tournament, losing six consecutive matches, and eventually missed out on the playoffs qualification. For Arshdeep, it was a mixed season with the ball, as he picked up just 11 wickets this season, compared to 21 in IPL 2025.
