In one of the best spells of bowling in Indian Premier League (IPL) history, Mohsin Khan’s spell dismantled the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana International Cricket Stadium on Sunday, April 26.
The left-arm pacer took five wickets at the end of his four-over quota. This includes taking three wickets in his first 13 balls to send Tim Seifert, Ajinkya Rahane and Rowan Powell back into the pavilion with KKR struggling at 31 for the loss of four wickets.
After successfully troubling the KKR top order, Mohsin took the wicket of free-scoring Cameron Green. The Australian all-rounder was leading a counterattack against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) bowlers by scoring 34 off 21 with three sixes along the way.
Mohsin completed his five-wicket haul by taking the wicket of Anukul Roy, who chipped the ball straight to Ayush Badoni at mid-wicket.
The 27-year-old ended his four overs with figures of 5 for 23, which also included a maiden over. This was Mohsin’s maiden five-wicket haul in his T20 and IPL career. His previous best was taking 4 for 16 during the 2022 IPL season when LSG took on the Delhi Capitals at the Wankhede Stadium.
