- Axar Patel (Delhi Capitals captain):
“We will be bowling. That’s the thing that’s going right (winning the toss), in the matches, we haven’t won those crucial moments, either with bat, ball or in the field, otherwise we haven’t played that badly. We will play our brand of cricket and don’t worry about the result. Win or lose, we’ll look to play a good brand of wicket. It’s a fresh wicket, the new ball might do a bit and we want to let them bat first. Five changes for us,” DC captain Axar Patel said at the toss.

HPCA Stadium, Dharamshala Pitch Report
We can expect another high-scoring pitch for the PBKS vs DC match. From IPL 2023 onwards, the average first innings score in Dharamshala is 209 – the highest for the 14 venues used since. PBKS fast bowling coach James Hopes has hinted that HPCA Stadium will follow the trend of high-scoring powerplay, which means 220 will be par.
“I think tomorrow night you can expect to see exactly what we’re seeing in every game at the moment – fast starts in the powerplay and then teams working their way back into it in the middle overs, and then the execution at the end will come down to which team does that best with the ball,” Hopes told reporters in Dharamshala.

PBKS vs DC: Who has the advantage?
As mentioned above, settling a massive target might be the way to go in Dharamshala. DC won’t like that. They’ve batted first 4 times in IPL 2026 and lost all of these games. This includes a loss to PBKS in Delhi after posting 265 on the board. Delhi does have a better pace battery, at least on paper, and that might work well. However, considering Punjab’s modus operandi is to outbat teams, they’ll have an advantage at their second home.
