IPL: 3 records held by PBKS that may never be broken

Punjab Kings (PBKS) have been present in the Indian Premier League (IPL) since its very first season. Despite their lack of success on the field, they are widely regarded as one of the most entertaining franchises in the history of the tournament and have formed part of some memorable games. 

Last year saw the Shreyas Iyer-led team reach only their second IPL final. On their way to the final, they played some very exciting games, which have now formed part of the IPL folklore.

Here are 3 PBKS records in IPL that are impossible to break:

3. Most captains in IPL history

Despite only playing in 18 IPL seasons, PBKS hold the record for having the most captains to lead them in at least one game, with 17. These include some of the biggest names in cricket like Virender Sehwag, Yuvraj Singh, Adam Gilchrist, Shikhar Dhawan, Kumar Sangakkara, and Mahela Jayawardene, amongst others.

However, out of those 17 skippers, only two have managed to take the franchise to an IPL final. Those being George Bailey in 2014 and most recently Shreyas Iyer in 2025. Unfortunately, they ended up finishing as runners-up on both occasions.
