BCCI, Narendra Modi Stadium lambasted for mismanagement; Fans demand more centers for Tickets distribution

IPL Final Tickets: Fans lambasted BCCI and Narendra Modi Stadium for total mismanagement of crowds during ticket distribution of IPL 2023 Qualifier 1 and Final matches. Things turned ugly when a stampede-like situation was witnessed on May 25, leading police to lathi charge outside Narendra Modi Stadium. Few CSK fans have demanded more centers or have an E-ticket facility. Follow IPL 2023 Final Live Updates with InsideSport.IN.

With thousands of CSK supporters traveling from Chennai, CSK Fan Club requested BCCI and IPL officials to make proper arrangements for tickets.

Dear @IPL @BCCI @paytminsider

Please help on Finals Ticket Distribution or make it E-Ticket.

Thousands of @ChennaiIPL Fans have already booked their #IPL2023Final Match tickets online, Air Tickets and Hotel. Many of them are reaching only on 28th Morning.

IPL 2023: BCCI and Narendra Modi Stadium management under the scanner as fans demand E-ticket option

Earlier, BCCI had stated there will be only online tickets available for Qualifier 2 and Final matches set to be played in Ahmedabad on May 26 and May 28 respectively. However, BCCI had mentioned that fans should collect their hard copy from the stadium. With not many centers available for ticket distribution, fans queued up for their hard copies for quite a long time.

One of the fans who had booked tickets online took to Twitter to express his disappointment about the mismanagement of ticket distribution and left empty-handed without collecting his hard copy of the ticket. While another user failed to understand the logic of BCCI’s move to collect tickets from the counter.

I'll never stand why in today's world, where at almost every ticketing event, an online ticket can work, or a QR can work, why do we waste paper and have people get in lines to collect a physical copy of tickets. Eventually in physical tickets as well, a barcode is only scanned. https://t.co/Czdj3c4mLb

Comprehensive 🧵 on the incompetence of the @BCCI, @IPL, @Paytm, @paytminsider and Gujarat Police that lead to multiple stampedes happening today at the Narendra Modi Stadium, how I almost fainted amongst a raging crowd and had to leave without collecting my tickets.
