The Lord’s Cricket Ground, commonly referred to as the ‘Home of Cricket’ in London, is home to the oldest sports museum in the world. After its founder, it was given the name Thomas Lord. It is recognised as one of the most significant venues in cricket. The museum also has memorabilia from some of the most memorable games to ever take place at the venue. However, there is also a Mumbai Indians flag in a space with a picture of legendary batter Sachin Tendulkar and the jersey of former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly. Check out the pictures below. India and England competed in the final of the famous 2002 NatWest ODI Series involving Sri Lanka, India, and England. India successfully chased down a total of 326 in the NatWest final during the game, but it wasn’t an easy task because at one point they were just 146 for 5.

Sourav Ganguly’s celebration of the victory at Lord’s balcony, during which he removed his shirt, was one of the memorable and well-known ones following the victory. In a historic run chase, Mohammed Kaif emerged as the hero while Zaheer Khan scored the decisive runs to give India its first ODI series victory in England. The museum however kept the mementos, which is in the shape of Ganguly’s jersey.

Additionally, the museum exhibits vintage items and artefacts from several national and international leagues throughout the globe. There are additional items like the MI jersey or a parking ticket from the 2010 Indian Premier League Final between Kolkata Knight Riders and Chennai Super Kings. The former India women’s team captain Mithali Raj’s jersey is also displayed there.
