Young Kolkata Knight Riders fast bowler Harshit Rana produced a match-winning performance against Lucknow Super Giants, taking three wickets and helping his team climb to the top of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2024) table. However, Rana’s ambitions extend far beyond the IPL trophy.

Harshit Rana acknowledges the valuable guidance he has received from KKR mentor Gautam Gambhir, a two-time IPL-winning captain. “The whole season, we have paid much attention to how Gautam Gambhir tells us to play cricket and apply those strategies. Because he knows very well how to turn game in our favour. As a bowler Gambhir advised us to hit good lengths according to the surface,“ Rana said.
He credits Gambhir’s experience and tactical insights for KKR’s success this season.
