Ahead of their match against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) captain KL Rahul was seen having a chat with his wife and Bollywood actress Athiya Shetty at the Ekana Stadium. Rahul and Athiya tied the knot last year, putting an end to rampant rumours, after having dated each other for a while. In a viral video, Rahul and Athiya were seen having a chat on the eve of the game against CSK in Lucknow. The LSG skipper was wearing a training gear while Athiya was sporting a matchday jersey.

Rahul celebrated his 32nd birthday with Athiya and the LSG players and support staff on Thursday.

Taking to Instagram, Athiya wished Rahul on his birthday with a heartwarming post.

"My whole heart for my whole life, happy birthday, my everything," she captioned a photo with Rahul.

Recently, Rahul shared the story of how he signed his first IPL contract with RCB, including a special conversation with Virat Kohli.

Rahul revealed that it was Virat who asked him if he would like to play for RCB after the Karnataka batter had impressed during the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

"Virat was there (ITC Gardenia), coach Ray Jennings and other support staff were also there and Virat only said, 'Would you want to sign this contract and play for RCB?' I was like, 'Are you kidding? It was always my dream.' And then he said 'I'm just kidding. It's not an option, just sign this contract.' I signed and Virat said 'It's gonna be a crazy ride. You're going to enjoy a lot in the next couple of months'," Rahul said in a video shared by Ashwin on his YouTube channel.

"The things that I learned (at RCB) in those two months, I mean the amount of time it would have taken me to be the player by playing just Ranji Trophy would have probably taken it 7-8 seasons. Those two months in the IPL, I gained so much knowledge and experience and everything was fast-forwarded," the former RCB star added.

Under Rahul, LSG have qualified for the playoffs in their first two seasons in the IPL.
