West Indies batter Nicholas Pooran has wowed cricket fans many times with his batting. But this time the Windies batter surprised many viewers when he used hindi language during IND vs WI 1st T20I. The incident occurred after the end of the 14th over when Pooran jokingly asked Indian skipper Hardik Pandya, “Kya hua?” (What happened?) in Hindi.
Notably, Pooran, who is of Indian origin, has played in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for several teams and has picked up some Hindi words during his stint.

However, Pooran’s Hindi moment did not last long as he was dismissed by Hardik Pandya in the 15th over for a brisk 41. The innings went downhill post his wicket and West Indies were eventually restricted to 149/6 in 20 overs. Skipper Rovman Powell was the top scorer for the side with 48 runs.
Earlier, WI skipper Powell opted to bat first after winning the toss and said that the players are looking forward to take on Indian spinners.
Before the start of the game, Pooran said that the team is looking forward to next year’s T20 World Cup and have started their preparations under new leader Powell.
“I like to win games for my team. This is always the format we enjoy. We started this year under Rovman’s leadership, we started brilliantly in South Africa. As a player, as a team, you are looking forward to the next World Cup. We have to put in the hard work. (Playing against Indian players) We’ve been playing each other for a couple of years. There’s a lot of info going around in the team”, Pooran had said before the game.
