Coach Julen Lopetegui achieved what has been coined the ‘most difficult’ with Wolverhampton Wanderers last season as he saved them from relegation. However, the coach left after a rumoured feud with the owners over the amount to spend in the summer transfer window. He led Wolves to a pre-season campaign with an unbeaten record. Following his departure, former Bournemouth coach Garu O’Neil has taken the helm. He had extremely little time to adapt to life in his new club with his first Premier League game set against giants Man United on the road.

- Following last season’s success, coach Ten Hag was determined to bolster the squad ahead of this season. As a result, midfielder Mason Mount and goalkeeper Andre Onana joined. Both started adapting to life with regular starts in the pre-season matches. Both should also be making their competitive debut on Monday. They have also brought in forward Rasmus Hojlund.
- Hojlund sustained a back issue during the last few days at his former club Atalanta. Hence, he has joined the infirmary with Anthony Martial and Dean Henderson who are nursing thigh injuries, Amad Diallo who’s suffering from a knee issue, Thomas Heaton who’s nursing a calf problem, and Kobbie Mainoo who’s suffering from an ankle injury.
- With Hojlund set to miss a few weeks, Marcus Rashford who scored 30 goals last season throughout all competitions, will lead in the final third. Even with Hojlund to compete with now, Rashford is determined to improve this season. The coach will also depend on him after last season’s performance.

- Instead of new summer joinings, Wolves have a long list of departures this summer transfer window. Joao Moutinho, Ruben Neves, Diogo Costa, Conor Coady, Adama Traore, Raul Jimenez, and Nathan Collins all left the club this summer. In the meantime, only two new players have joined including Matt Doherty.
- Wolves have one thing working for them as they are approaching the match with almost no injuries. Only Matheus Cunha was nursing a minor injury which saw him miss the training sessions for a few days last week. It still remains a doubt whether he will be taking to the field on Monday.
- The coach remains optimistic that the forward will be available for the match against the Red Devils. If Cunha plays the match, he will surely take the lead in the final third. The coach will be dependent on the Brazilian attacker following the departure of Jimenez and Costa. Meanwhile, Fabio Silva and Sasa Kalajdzic will also try to push their way into the starting XI.
