Former Royal Challengers Bangalore explosive hitter Chris Gayle shed light on the franchise’s title drought and dropped a bombshell statement in an interview. Despite the star-studded line-up RCB have possessed over the years, the side has been unable to clinch a single title since the inception of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Speaking in a segment on JioCinema, Gayle dropped quite a few interesting remarks on his former franchise being unable to lift the title. He stated that only ‘three players’ garnered much of the limelight, unlike the rest of the unit.

"Sometimes, being one of the main players, being the main man of the franchise, I am always in my zone, pretty much. What I understand about the RCB point of view is that many players felt left out. A lot of players did not feel like they were a part of the franchise,” told Gayle on JioCinema.

"It was like only 3 players getting all the attention - myself, Virat and AB. A lot of players, pretty much mentally, they were nowhere within the team. So that's always going to be a challenge to win a title," he added.

Gayle joined the side as a replacement player in 2011 after being snubbed in the auction the same year. From there on, the explosive southpaw scripted a legacy for the Bangalore-based franchise as he garnered huge runs and entertained fans throughout his stint with the side.
