'Prince of Rajasthan and King Kohli' - Yashasvi Jaiswal, Virat Kohli indulge in serious conversation post RR vs RCB fixture

Rajasthan Royals’ young sensation Yashasvi Jaiswal didn’t have a memorable outing against Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2023 on Sunday, May 14 as he got out for a two-ball duck while chasing a target of 172 set by RCB. Jaiswal was once looking to take the attack on the opposition from the first ball itself, however, he ended up hitting the ball straight to Virat Kohli at mid-off against Mohammed Siraj on just the second ball of the RR’s innings.

Following his dismissal, the entire batting lineup of Rajasthan fell like a house of cards as they got bundled out for just 59 in 10.3 overs resulting in a massive 112-run loss. On an otherwise gloomy day for the Rajasthan’s opener, the 21-year-old got the chance to talk to Virat Kohli at the end of the match.

The duo were spotted talking to each other after the end of the game where Kohli was seen sharing some tips and passing on his experience to the rising star of Indian cricket. Seeing Kohli guiding the young sensation, the on-air commentators said, “That’s a lovely sight, it really is. Yashasvi Jaiswal all that he’s achieved and the master. The prince of Rajasthan and King Kohli just having a chat.”

Notably, Kohli had praised Jaiswal for his breathtaking knock of 98* off 47 balls against Kolkata Knight Riders during Match 56 at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. During his innings, Jaiswal also registered the fastest-ever fifty in the history of the IPL, reaching the landmark in just 13 balls.

Jaiswal is the second highest run scorer of the season so far

Awestruck by his sensational innings, Kohli posted an Instagram story for the RR opener and wrote, “Wow, this is some of the best batting I’ve seen in a while. What a talent, Yashasvi Jaiswal."

When Jaiswal got to know about the special praise from Kohli by his teammate Yuzvendra Chahal, he was taken aback and later thanked Kohli as well on Instagram. The 21-year-old is the second-highest run-scorer of the season so far with 575 runs to his name in 13 innings at an average of 47.91 and a strike rate of 166.18 scoring one hundred and four fifties.
