Sachin Tendulkar pens emotional note for son Arjun after LSG debut in IPL 2026

As the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 moves into its final stage, Punjab Kings (PBKS) continued to remain alive in the race to the playoffs after a win over Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on May 23. Although, the Rishabh Pant-led LSG took the field in their final game of this season, surprisingly Arjun Tendulkar, son of legend Sachin Tendulkar was handed his debut, where he finished with figures of 1/36 in his four over and scored unbeaten 5. Notably, Arjun made his IPL debut in 2023 with Mumbai Indians (MI), where he picked 3 wickets in 4 matches.

Seeing the young Indian all-rounder finally get a call-up in LSG XI and return with brilliant bowling figures, he received massive praise from his father. Sachin expressed pride on the way Arjun carried through the season while hailing his patience as he waited for the entire season to make his debut.

Taking to X, the Indian great began, “Well done, Arjun. Proud of the way you’ve carried yourself through this season, always believing in your ability, staying patient, working hard quietly, and remaining positive despite having to wait for your opportunity till the very last match.” The 53-year-old also hailed his patience while giving a piece of advice to stay grounded.  

“Cricket tests patience as much as skill, and you handled both beautifully today. Keep your feet on the ground, and continue being in love with the game like you always have. Love you always,” he concluded. 

Addressing LSG’s IPL 2026 season, the Sanjiv Goenka owned franchise finished at the bottom of the points table with only 4 wins in 14 games and 8 points under their belt. This season, they were the first to get eliminated from the competition despite boasting of match-winners like Mitchell Marsh, Aiden Markram, Nicholas Pooran, Rishabh Pant and others in their ranks.
