Social media erupts after confusion regarding Rishabh Pant’s review

In the 24th game of the IPL, a long conversation broke out between Delhi Capitals skipper Rishabh Pant and match umpire Rohan Pandit. In the fourth over of the Lucknow Super Giants‘ innings, the fourth ball was going down the leg-side of Devdutt Padikkal. 

Rishab Pant could be seen, indicating a review. However, after the umpire signaled for the review, Pant looked unhappy and had a lengthy discussion with the umpire. The argument could have been Pant indicating that he had not taken the review. Rather, Pant was asking for consideration to take the review from a fielder. 

Social media users reacted to the confusion that erupted on the pitch between Rishabh Pant and the umpire.

Delhi Capitals ended up losing the review, as the delivery was indicated as wide. Rishabh Pant was dissatisfied with the decision and did not agree with the umpire. Padikkal’s poor form in the current Indian Premier League continued as he was dismissed by Khaleel Ahmed in the next over.
