Former Indian speedster S Sreesanth’s wife has reacted strongly to Gautam Gambhir calling her husband “fixer” during their match in the Legends League Cricket on Wednesday. The two former cricketers were seen getting into a heated argument after the sixth over, forcing the umpires to intervene. While nothing was revealed during the match, Sreesanth, in an Instagram live, revealed that the former Indian opener said a few “rude” things to him.

Just as Sreesanth’s fans didn’t appreciate Gambhir’s outburst, the medium-pacer’s wife Bhuvneshwari also called out Gambhir Gambhir for his “shocking behaviour” on Instagram.

Reacting to the video, Bhuvneshwari wrote, “It is so shocking to hear from Sree that a player who has played for India with him for many years can stoop to this level.

“Even after so many years of retirement from Active cricket. After all, upbringing matters a lot and it shows up when this kind of behaviour comes up on the ground. Shocking truly shocking,” she concluded.

What exactly happened

Referring to Gautam Gambhir as “Mr Fighter,” Sreesanth claimed that he didn’t respect any of his colleagues and said something that was not acceptable.

Later, in an Instagram live, the Kerala pacer went on to reveal that Gambhir during the match between the India Capitals and Gujarat Giants called him a “fixer,” referring to the 2013 IPL-spot fixing scandal.

“On live TV, on the centre wicket, he called me a fixer…fixer…fixer. I did not use any abusive words, just questioned him. I just laughed sarcastically. He even said the same language to the umpires even though I moved away,” Sreesanth said in the video.

While Gambhir was yet to react directly to the same, he did seem to take a jibe at the former Indian pacer. Sharing a cryptic post on X, he wrote, “Smile when the world is all about attention!”

On Wednesday, India Capitals beat Gujarat Giants in the Eliminator and proceeded to Qualifier 2 of Legends League Cricket (LLC) Season 2. However, they lost to Manipal Tigers in Qualifier 2 by six wickets and failed to make it to the final.
