SRH’s record in IPL Playoffs ahead of Eliminator clash vs RR

The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) are back in the Indian Premier League (IPL) playoffs again. After a poor 2025 season where they missed the playoffs entirely, Pat Cummins and his men have stormed back into the top four with one of the strongest second halves of IPL 2026.

SRH have momentum on their side as they head to face the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in a must-win Eliminator in New Chandigarh on May 27. At one stage, they had won just one of their first four matches. But from there, the batting unit exploded into life.

Abhishek Sharma, Travis Head, Heinrich Klaasen and Ishan Kishan turned SRH into arguably the most destructive batting side of the second half of the season. Not just this, SRH found their bowling plans in the form of Eshan Malinga, Sakib Hussain and Praful Hinge. Pat Cummins’ arrival has truly affected the team in a superb way as well.

Interestingly, SRH remain the only franchise in IPL history to win the title after playing the Eliminator. They achieved the feat in 2016 under David Warner, beating Kolkata Knight Riders in the Eliminator, Gujarat Lions in Qualifier 2 and then RCB in the final.

What is SRH’s record in Eliminators?

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have played five Eliminators in IPL history and won two of them. Their most iconic Eliminator victory came in 2016 when they defeated KKR by 22 runs before going on to lift the trophy.

Their most recent Eliminator appearance came in IPL 2020, where they comfortably beat RCB by six wickets before losing Qualifier 2 to Delhi Capitals.
