Rohit was in a personal net session at the BKC Ground in Mumbai. On the other hand, senior India players, including Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja, arrived in Hyderabad for their respective net sessions. A report mentioned that Rohit will link up with the side on Monday, where another net session is expected.

Rohit’s impressive numbers against England will certainly offer the 36-year-old some confidence ahead of the Test series. He has scored 747 runs at an average of 49.80 with two centuries in nine matches. He was the star performer during England’s 2021 tour of India, having scored 345 runs in four Tests, including a remarkable 161 runs on a turning pitch in the second Test at Chepauk in Chennai.

According to ex-India captain Sunil Gavaskar, Rohit will be key to his side’s success in the series and his starts will be very important for the hosts. “Rohit, the batter, the manner in which he batted in the Chennai Test, he hit a hundred, and it was a very good hundred. He showed how to bat on spin-friendly pitches. If he continues to bat that way, India will definitely get a good start. And it can make No.3 and No. 4 batters’ lives easily,” Gavaskar told Star Sports.

Rohit was in brilliant form with the bat in the final T20I against Afghanistan. He led India’s charge in the Super Over to guide the hosts to a thrilling victory.
