  • India defeated the West Indies in the 3rd T20I to take a 2-1 lead.
  • Earlier, former Windies skipper Pollard announced his retirement from international cricket.

Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya took some time out from his hectic schedule to spend quality time with veteran West Indies all-rounder Kieron Pollard in the Caribbean. Pandya paid a surprise visit to Pollard's house amid India's ongoing white-ball series against the West Indies. During the five-match T20I series between the two former world champions, both teams were earlier facing a delay in the visa process ahead of the Florida leg.

The remaining two matches of the five-game series are scheduled to take place in Lauderhill, Florida on August 6 and August 7. Before leaving the Caribbean country for the second leg of the T20I series, Pandya was reunited with his former Mumbai Indians (MI) teammate Pollard. “No trip to the Caribbean is complete without a visit to the King’s home. Polly my favourite and your beautiful family, thank you for hosting me my brother,” Pandya captioned his post on Twitter.

Over the years, Pollard has enjoyed his time both on and off-field with the Pandya brothers in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Hardik and Krunal Pandya were released by Pollard's Mumbai Indians ahead of the 15th season. While Krunal joined forces with KL Rahul at Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), Pandya guided debutants Gujarat Titans (GT) to IPL glory in the previous edition of the cash-rich league.

Pandya, who has cemented his place in the Indian T20I side after IPL 2022, achieved a rare double in the 3rd T20I between India and the West Indies. Pandya completed his 50th wicket by dismissing Brandon King in the 3rd T20I. By virtue of his wicket, the star all-rounder became the first Indian player to score 500 runs and take 50 wickets in the shortest format of the game. Pandya-starrer Team India will meet Nicholas Pooran-led West Indies in the 4th T20I on Saturday.
