Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) skipper Pat Cummins breathed a sigh of relief following a jaw-dropping victory over Mumbai Indians in a thrilling IPL showdown on Wednesday, March 27. The match, brimming with explosive batting displays, saw SRH clinch a historic win by 31 runs after setting a monumental IPL record total of 277 for three.

Cummins reflected on the thrilling match, expressing his excitement at winning despite the intense back-and-forth with boundaries. He described it as an insane game where it seemed like boundaries were being scored at will. He was glad to be on the winning side, as he mentioned during the post-match presentation.

"That was insane. It's one of those games. It felt like they were finding boundaries whenever they wanted. It was good to finish on the winning side. In IPL, we have played in front of big crowds and to see him (Abhishek Sharma) play with freedom was good to watch. You never played for 270. We wanted to play positively with the impact player and score aggressively," Cummins said in the post-match presentation ceremony.

The match witnessed a remarkable exhibition of power-hitting prowess from SRH's Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma, who blazed through the Mumbai Indians' bowling attack. Sharma, in particular, stole the show with a blistering 63 off just 23 balls, snatching the franchise's fastest fifty record from Head. Heinrich Klaasen's unbeaten 80 off 34 balls added the finishing touches, propelling SRH to rewrite the IPL history books with a colossal total of 277 for three.

You have to suck up that you will go for some boundaries: Cummins

Despite Mumbai Indians' valiant efforts in pursuit of the daunting target, led by a stellar performance from Tilak Varma, the relentless pressure of the towering scoreboard proved insurmountable. Cummins lauded the crowd's electrifying support, emphasizing the significance of playing in front of the massive IPL audience.

"It's obviously a good wicket. You have to suck up that you will go for some boundaries. The cutters helped in the last phase. The first home game here. The crowd was very loud and it was amazing," Cummins remarked, acknowledging the role of the crowd in SRH's triumph.
