Virat Kohli’s ‘nemesis’ auditions for Royal Challengers Bangalore ahead of IPL 2024 Auction

With less than a week to go for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 auction, former Sunrisers Hyderabad all-rounder Shreyas Gopal, attended trials with Royal Challengers Bangalore. If the 30-year-old manages to impress the RCB scouts ahead of auction, we might see ‘Virat Kohli vs Shreyas Gopal’ turn into ‘Virat Kohli and Shreyas Gopal’ in the IPL next season.

On Friday, a video surfaced on the internet, showcasing, Shreyas Gopal bowling in the nets in RCB’s trial camp.

For those who are unfamiliar, Virat Kohli, who is the leading run-scorer in IPL history, doesn’t hold a great record against the wrist-spinner.

The ex-RCB captain struggled against the former Rajasthan Royals’ player, tallying a mere 68 runs and falling prey to dismissal three times in their six IPL face-offs.

Meanwhile, Gopal who was released by Sunrisers Hyderabad last year, is looking for a career rejuvenation. Gopal enjoyed a decent success with Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2019 but failed to replicate same performance in following years. He was released from RR squad ahead of IPL 2022 auction. The all-rounder was later picked by Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2022 but played only one game that season.
