Mumbai Indians owner Akash Ambani was seen leaving the Wankhede Stadium early as his team neared a shambolic loss at the hands of Chennai Super Kings in the El Clasico encounter of IPL 2026 on Thursday, April 23. Usually, the owners are known to stand by their team much after the match ends, but Akash left the ground early, stirring a conspiracy that he was ashamed of the way his team performed in the match.
For the unversed, MI lost the match by a mammoth margin of 103 runs against their arch-rivals, as the hosts were bundled out for only 104 in response to CSK's 207-6 in the first innings.

The loss did not sit well with MI skipper Hardik Pandya, too, as he was pretty hard done by the result, as his men have now lost four out of the last five matches. They have won only a couple of matches so far, and only a miracle can help them get back on track. For Pandya, however, hope is not all lost, and he wishes for a turnaround sooner than later.
"The powerplay, losing early wickets, is always going to be tricky. We couldn't cope after that. We should have just batted better. They batted on the same pitch. Just that Sanju played an outstanding knock, and their batters kept coming and chipping away to a decent total," Pandya said at the post-match presentation.
For us to chase it down, we had to have a good power play and have the momentum, but it didn't work out. [On changes] That will be the chat, going back to the drawing board and seeing what we can do," Pandya added.
